Swvl for private shared transportation announced its partnership with AXA General Insurance, one of the pioneering insurance companies in the Egyptian market, to insure all Swvl trips. The agreement covers domestic routes in Greater Cairo and Alexandria, in addition to inter-governorate trips.

This partnership comes in light of the continuous efforts to provide safety and protection to Swvl’s customers and drivers, as the company seeks to offer a competitive service at affordable prices, while prioritizing for passenger safetyfrom the start of the journey till its end, especially with the increase in the number of routes and buses, the growing number of trips, and the expansion of transportation between governorates.

Omar Selim, General Manager of Swvl said that his company chose to partner with AXA General Insurance Egypt because it is one of the multinational companies with a great track-record and respectable reputation in the insurance sector, highlighting that the insurance coverage amounts up to EGP 100,000, and covers passengers and drivers. Also, Selim noted that the full insurance amount is payable in case of death or permanent total disability - God forbid - and that the claim amount varies depending on each case. The policy that started this November, covers passengers and drivers inside Egypt around the clock, seven days a week, from the moment they board the bus and until the end of the trip.
